This workshop brings the philosophy of law-based explanations back into focus, with special attention to their place in scientific practice.

It asks how law-based explanations compare with mechanistic, mathematical, and other explanatory forms, and what new directions may emerge from work across fields such as physics, biology, medicine, and linguistics.
